Maternity Care

The midwife will see you regularly at the surgery during your pregnancy, and will visit you at home after the birth. Please make your first appointment with the midwife at 8-10 weeks and ensure that you tell the receptionist that it is your first appointment. Your first appointment will take approximately an hour.

Contraception

We offer a full range of contraceptive services and sexual health advice. Two of our nurses are trained in contraception and can carry out pill checks, repeat depo-provera injections and provide emergency contraception advice. Pills to prevent a pregnancy can be taken up to 72 hours after unprotected sex, and are available from Chemists without an appointment.

Please note that coil fitting and removal cannot be done here at the surgery. You would need to call 0300 790 0165 to book in with one of the local outreach clinics.

University students who want to book an appointment for the Depo-provera contraceptive injection will need to inform the receptionist that this is what the appointment is for, so that we do not book these incorrectly.
